Prof Dr Ederer is a scientist and an entrepreneur. As a scientist, he teaches, researches and publishes on the links between innovation, new technologies, learning and economic growth, with a particular emphasis on the global food and agribusiness industry, heavily using data science. He directs and coordinates the Global Food and Agribusiness Network (GFAN) and GOALSciences. As entrepreneur his commercial focus is on investment finance solutions for pioneering companies in Africa. He serves on the Scientific Council of the World Farmers Organisation, and on the Advisory Board of the Sustainable Livestock Intergroup of the EU Parlament.
GFAN hosts the GOALSciences initiative, the Global Observatory on Accurate Livestock Sciences with its team of data scientists (more at goalsciences.org). GFAN also provides a platform for senior decision makers in the food and agribusiness industry to define their future strategies and perspectives on opportunities and challenges in their industry. The network conducts events and finances research on core topics which are shaping and changing the industry (more at foodandagribusiness.org). At Zeppelin University Ederer has conducted research projects and executive teaching assignments on innovation and growth since 2004, demonstrating the link between human capital, economic growth and innovation with business case studies and empirical analyses for individuals, business and public policy makers. Between 2012 and 2016 he was project director of the EU-funded LLLight’in’Europe research project, leading a consortium of eight globally leading research universities on Lifelong Learning, Innovation, Growth and Human Capital Tracks.
